What Happened to the Remaining cUSD Rewards from the MiniPay Campaign?
Back in 2024, Mento and MiniPay launched a campaign with 10 million MENTO tokens and a $1 million cUSD reward pool. The campaign ended on October 1, 2024, with more than 2 million MENTO and approximately $200,000 in cUSD reportedly claimed.
This potentially left around $800,000 in unclaimed cUSD rewards.
Towards the end of 2024, a second campaign was launched to distribute the remaining MENTO allocation from the original campaign. Many participants took part in this second campaign, expecting to eventually receive their MENTO rewards.
However, the transferability of the MENTO tokens is taking longer than expected, leaving second-campaign participants waiting for a considerable period.
This brings up an important question:
What happened to the remaining cUSD from the original $1 million reward pool?
If a significant portion of those funds is still available, I believe Mento should consider distributing the remaining cUSD to eligible participants of the second campaign.
This could provide a tangible reward to participants while they continue waiting for MENTO transferability, and would also be a meaningful way to recognize the community’s patience and continued support.
Could the Mento team please clarify:
- How much of the original $1 million cUSD pool was distributed?
- How much remained after the first campaign?
- What happened to the remaining balance?
- If any significant amount remains available, could it be distributed to eligible participants of the second campaign?
The community has been patient. If these funds are still available, this could be an opportunity to put them back into the hands of the community while we wait for MENTO transferability to be resolved.
